The CIDUI’s Panel on International University Cooperation was held on 5 July 2012 in the premises of the University Pompeu Fabra, Ciutadella Campus, in Barcelona.A session was dedicated to “Experiences in International University Cooperation” (Experiencias de Cooperación Universitaria Internacional). The purpose was to present the projects promoting mutual understanding and cooperation of international networks in Higher-Education and Research. The University of Barcelona was invited to present the JISER-MED project, its objectives and achievements. The JISER-MED project as a concrete example of cooperation between Higher-Education institutions from both sides of the Mediterranean Sea, clearly showed the importance of strengthening existing links and networks in the region. The presentation emphasized on the importance of multilingualism to facilitate mutual understanding and on the necessity of having continuous dialogue to create an integrated High-Education and Research area in this region. Stakeholders and representatives from different European and Latin-American Network Associations were in the audience.
